Rainn Wilson is an Emmy-nominated actor, co-founder of the media company SoulPancake, and writer whose memoir, The Bassoon King: My Life in Art, Faith, and Idiocy, is out November 10. Wilson has appeared in numerous films and television shows, most famously The Office, where he played the completely psychotic and impossibly endearing paper pusher Dwight Schrute. In real life, Wilson is a big fan of the Portland-based indie rock band Blitzen Trapper. In fact, he loves them so much that he wrote, produced, and directed a short film in which he pursues his dream of joining them onstage for a set. (Spoiler alert: It doesn’t end well — a jilted Wilson murders the entire band.) Eric Earley is Blitzen Trapper’s front man and is currently leading the band on tour in support of their new album, All Across This Land.
